Created by the Of-FEEE already presented in these pages recently, the label of Future Energy has been awarded to local authorities engaged in an exemplary step and making proactive in building a local energy policy. In the tangle of Agenda 21, carbon or other local climate action plan, the Foundation wanted to provide communities with simple tools and practical to develop their approach and intensify their efforts. The label goes beyond all these practices to make the best of each.

The first jury acting on local candidates was held November 26, 2009. The 11 communities in 2009 labeled (Le Havre (76) - Issy-les-Moulineaux (92) - Niederbronn-les-Bains (67) - Fouesnant (29) - Quesnoy-on-Deûle (59) - Merville-Franceville (14 ) - Roscoff (29) - Beynat (19) - Saint-Laurent-le-Minier (30) - Clairvaux-les-Lacs (39) - Community of Communes of Véziaux Aure (65)) were able to establish the achievement five key steps in building a true local management of energy (community mobilization, diagnostics, mobilizing people and actors, formulating a shared vision and finally concrete realization of the action), in at least one area of action relating to energy.
